2003 - EPA REQUESTED CDC TO REVIEW AVAILABLE INFORMATION ON HUMAN HEALTH FROM SLUDGE USE
Since CDC and FDA were signatory parties to the EPA's sludge use policy on food crops, asking CDC to
review human health complaints was like the cat asking a lab mouse to do its bidding or FDA to investigate
the spinach and lettuce contamination in Salinas Valley, California where sewage effluent is used for
irrigation.
Needless to say, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have NOT investigated the impact of land
applied sewage sludge on human health -- [not to mention animal health, land and surface and ground water . . . . . . ]--
there has NEVER been an EPA or CDC risk assessment on human health impacts . . . . we have collected hundreds of
cases all over the country of people being sickened by exposure to land applied sludge . . . . see partial case studies
(only up to 2001) - many more since then not posted on line )2002 and 2003 victims available on CD) . . .
